Well it's been a while since going on here, it's amazing what you forget to do. The biggest issue with these 21st century devices is remembering the passwords. We now have a secret book hidden in a fiendishly clever place with them all in, trouble is it took me a few months to find the book....
So what's happening in Brixham? Lots of rain recently and a touch windy, just 1 chimney fell on Fore street so the town got off quite lightly. The new part of the fish market opened this week and the work continues, by next summer most should be complete possibly including a restaurant with rumours of Mitch Tonks going in and he had a stonking review in the saturday Times so could be interesting for the town. The Christmas lights were turned on yesterday with a pretty good turnout considering the rain and the lights look great. There's a whole series of events all this week including a ghost walk on Tuesday led by yours truly and culminating in a fun parade on Saturday, I'll be braving the cold with Samba Jam our community Samba band. We won't be wearing skimpy south american outfits, it's December in Brixham!
Totnes does a great Christmas event on Tuesday 8th, 15th and 22nd December with entertainment, stalls, massive crowds and a great atmosphere. Dartmouth have their candlelit parade on Friday 11th and Saturday 12th.
Also on 11th December we are hosting a fun Christmas party in Brixham at the Scala Hall with live bands, dj, game shows and lots more fun, come along for fun.
Finally on the 23rd we are doing a christmas in song concert at Lupton House which should be very exciting. If you can't make it to Sampford House this month we hope to see you soon, love David and Tracy.

June update
Already in June and the sun is shining and glistening off the sparkling blue water. This month we have the trawler race (20th), the Occombe beer festival (5th & 6th), the baby guillemots leaping to adulthood (end of month) as well as all the usual Brixham and Torbay attractions. It looks like Brixham broke the Pirate record in early May, though still awaiting verification. We're now looking for other records to break, any ideas will be discussed.
We look forward to seeing you soon.

Spring has sprung
We're nearly at the end of April, where has this year gone? A sure sign of getting old when you write that sort of thing.
Brixham has had a great run of nice weather and the town is feeling hopeful for a decent summer, the last 2 have been 'disappointing' to say the least.
So what's coming up, next weekend, May 1st -4th is a big Pirate Festival with lots of activities throughout the town culminating in a WORLD RECORD ATTEMPT on Sunday 3rd May at 2pm. The Germans hold the record for the most pirates in one place, approx 1200, we want to smash it so please come to town dressed as a pirate, www.brixhambuccaneers.co.uk for further details.
The following weekend, May 8th & 9th, there is the Dartmouth Music festival. Just 5 miles from Brixham it's a fun free weekend with music to suit all tastes.
The final event for now is the Brixham Heritage festival, the 18th year, from 23rd-30th May with loads of activities and events including a parade on the 23rd at 11.30am and fireworks that evening at 9.50pm around the harbour.
We'd love to see you there.
